Introduction

Management is regarded as the heart and blood of every organization. This investigation is based on the critical analysis of health care management. The role of management in health care is quite important, because hospitals core objective is based on healing the patients at its optimal level. Management of health care is strongly associated with leadership. Management of health care face multicultural and multidisciplinary issues, whose supervision is not possible if the resource, is not enriched with leadership qualities. In this study, leadership theories and traits will be examined. These leadership traits play a vital role in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of health care management. The concept of leadership styles, traits, collectivist approach and communication elimination method has been covered in this investigation.

Problem statement

In United States, there is a severe problem of multicultural diversity management in health care organizations. According to projected 2050 census of United States, the population of Asian and Hispanic will be tripled, the population of black will be doubled, and that of white population will remain steady. The US is becoming more ethnically and culturally diverse which raises the need of health care management (Salisbury, 2006, pp 1-4). It becomes difficult for the management to deliver optimal quality healing to the patients with multidisciplinary and multicultural background employees. The management of health care must constitute high quality leaders who have diverse experience, in order to cater distinctive cultural background employees.

Background

Leadership plays an integral role in the growth and development of any organization. In other words, organization success is entirely dependent on the leader. One of the important characteristics of perfect leader is his ability of exploring team and personal motives, which are utilized to achieve certain sets of goals. Leader is the person who constitutes different trait and characteristic, which are required to run the operations of the organization. Clinical organization should have strong insight of leadership responsibilities and styles, in order to gain deeper knowledge of the patients. According to Adair (1997), leadership is a “journey word”.

Leadership plays an integral role in the health care development. In United States, there are individuals who belong to different background (Hispanic, black, whites and Asians). The cultural, moral and religious values of all the background individuals are different, which means that health care management concept has widened up significantly. The management of health care has to cater all multi culture patients, which means that there is a need of strong leaders who are enriched with different characteristics' and traits (Bass, 1980). These traits and characteristics' facilitate the organization in understanding the needs and demand of the patient. The patients of different background have different preferences; they have different culture and values. Health care management has to produce multidimensional leader who have the capability of dealing and understanding any patient. In United States, there is a strong need of leaderships in the health care organizations to manage multidisciplinary and multicultural groups.
