Introduction

This paper will discuss two healthcare organizations i.e. Mary Marlborough Disability Service and Ascension Health. These organizations have implemented transformational changes to ensure good healthcare practice so that the patients get the right treatment that is required. This paper will discuss the different aspects of the process of change that these two organizations have implemented.

Problems/Issues That Lead To the Change

The first and foremost problem that lead to change was the management of the facility. The management was unable to manage the facility properly due to which a number of problems emerged.

The second problem that the organization faced was the budgeting issues. The facility was unable to perform in a better manner because it never had enough funds to make sure that good quality service is provided to the patients.

Another issue was the lack and the poor communication between the staff of the hospital. this created a havoc every now and then and due to this issue the patients were unable to get proper treatment.

Various Stakeholders Involved In the Change

There were a number of stakeholders involved in the process of change. They were board of directors, the medical consultant and staff. All of them were impacted by the poor channels of communication and the lack of leadership. None of them was able to perform to their best potential due to which the patients were adversely affected. When these people were impacted, the management thought that it is high time to bring change in the company; therefore, change was implemented to improve the processes.

Time Frame Involved In the Change Process

A project for twelve months was implemented and a new position was created known as Clinical Operations Coordinator. The person at this position was responsible for bringing change in the company and to improve the operations of the company. The company made sure that the changes that were being brought in help it in providing better service to the patients.

Financial Resources Allocated For the Change

The financial resources allocated for the change were not much because as it is the company was operating at a loss. The management did not have much funds to bring in an expensive change management program. It had funds to hire a new person who will be responsible for bringing change in the company and for identifying areas where change is needed.

Issues Surfaced During the Change Process

The issues related while implementing the change process were that initially the employees were reluctant in accepting the new position and the person that was hired. He was responsible for bringing change in the company; therefore, everyone had to follow what he said. This is the reason that the people were not ready to accept the change.

The Outcomes of the Change
