Life in America

The United States of America have a distinct life and living styles. As mentioned by the standard economists of the living standards, America is one of the top twenty countries of the world in terms of living standards. Its per capita income is high as compared to many other developed countries. America is considered to provide well standard of living to all its residents and nationals.

There is a huge cultural diversity in America. America is a country where not only vast variety of home culture is there but also a huge of population of immigrants from various countries. People residing in America, immigrants or country's population, all follows more or less similar ways of living (Baker, p.381). For instance, they all have a common belief with respect to the value of time. People in America belief that time is money. “Time is Money”, this phrase lives in America and time is considered as a commodity to make it productive. The utilization of time in a productive way is considered as an important personality trait in America. Even in offices, people who arrive on time are considered to the reliable.

Families in America share strong values. Family members are considered to be a single unit. Usually, the tradition is that American families comprises of fewer members as some extended members live in separate houses. Some of the cultural groups have larger families, which live together in one house. The tradition of Individualism is encouraged in America. Families feel proud upon the sole accomplishment of an individual.

Life in India

There are a number of diverse living styles in India. There are huge differences in classes. Few common classes are rich people, middle class and poor. Modern houses, servants and luxuries of life are experienced by rich urban families. On the other hand, the middle class normally resides in apartments or small houses. Poor families posses fewer wealth and therefore, lives in small huts or simple roofed houses (Tarafder, p.103). Instead of richness and high finances, peace and satisfactory life are the common values and beliefs of all the classes. Living in joint families is common in India. For joint family system, people use large houses with several rooms. India is progressing very quickly and the traditions are changing with time. The values that are commonly shared by Indian families have been increasingly changing. The youth of India does not seem to like the traditional life in certain living styles and they follow the modernized styles such as of Americans. The concept of love marriages has been adopted by many of the Indian societies.
