Compare and Contrast Two Literary Works

Thesis Statement

The two stories being used for comparison in this paper “A Worn Path” by Eudora Welty and “I Used to Live Here Once”, by Jean Rhys. Their centre of attention is on one matter that is “Journey”. In the stories, the two writers present a comparable theme but their points of views are different. Both the writers explain journey in a different perspective through which their life is changed by their journey.

Introduction

In this paper, we are trying to compare the two conflicting stories by two individual writers. From both stories, we come out with the same conclusion that whatever way a person is taking for their journey, there are going to be a lot of hurdles and hardships in their way to discourage them. Both the stories are literary works and have dissimilar symbolism, characters, historical context, though the theme of the two stories is similar (Attie, 2008).

The excitement and enthusiasm of emotional journey permits individuals to discover optimistic and suspicious effects of diverse individuals, and one gathers experience even as travelling and discovers various places. These places revolve out to be constructive for the rest of the years. The story revolves around her journey and her difficulties that she faces during travelling (Eudora, John, William, 2001).

Though, she is old, but her sense of humor is high, and she is very lively in nature. The Writer Welty in her story “A Worn path” described Phoenix's nature to be very lively. The story tells about the journey, which is very difficult for Phoenix, because of her old age, but she overcomes them through her spirited ...
