Reflective Statement on HRM

Reflective Statement on HRM

Introduction

In this Reflective Statement, I will evaluate, comment and self-reflect on my learning experience on the module PM4906 Human Resource Management C as a whole.

On commencement of the module my first thought was when I reviewed the course outline was immediate fear at the thought of conducting a selection interview, having it videotaped and worst of all having to watch it back and comment on how you feel it went. This fear was made worse when Jean announced that we would be doing it in groups and not individually, how humiliating! I questioned what the purpose of having to watch yourself was. The second assessment was the Disciplinary Interview; this was a task that I had never undertaken and I was apprehensive that I would not have the ability to carry it out. The last task of the module a Performance Management Activity, working in groups of three seemed by far the better of the three and I liked the idea of group work as I feel at times I am more productive and motivated than working on my own, as the saying goes “Two heads are better than one”.

However, taking it to the phases or moments of human resource management or personnel, perhaps the first reference given and the existence of a specific personnel structure is that of the so-called forecast staffing needs or, as respects forecast effective. The first arises from the time that any public policy needs of people who carried out and, if new, now in its phase of study was to establish an estimate of the class of suitable persons to develop it. In this consideration plays a key role determining the functions and tasks to develop, especially in the upper level and special public policy, therefore, as in what corresponds to the general administration top, middle or simple, properly that, surely, to be common to any administrative action, there is already trained to do it and organized bodies.

However, Human Resource Management is one of its tasks provide human capabilities required by an organization and develop skills and abilities of the individual to be as satisfactory to himself and the community in which it operates. Do not forget that organizations depend for their operation and evolution, primarily the human element that counts. It can be said without exaggeration that an organization is the portrait of its members (Burrell, 1993, 91-112).

Also, due to the fact that the last class was on Thursday evening and the Interview was on the Saturday it gave very little time for preparation ...
