Introduction

21st century is highly characterized by globalization and economic development. With these rapidly advancing features of business world today, it has become more and more crucial for organizational leaders to sustain their businesses effectively. Thus, efficient leadership is very much essential in today's business world.

According to Professor Jem Bendell (2012, p.49), leadership basically starts with instants of ego-transcendence and willingness to crucially inquire into the norms, assumptions, and beliefs. Further, he described sustainability development by stating that sustainability is much more then adding on to what exist or adding an additional control; it is about enabling new freedoms to liberate shared wealth by transforming the current order (Bendell, 2012, p.49). Where, this transformation is possible only by managing organizational aspects efficiently. Thus, it can be stated that in order to bring successful sustainability in the organization, effective leadership is vital.

Leaders navigate complex relations between organizations, agencies, and communities which are operating interdependently at various spatial scales today (Frank Pack, p.10). Further, the leaders need to work with individuals and firms who are not directly controlled by one another, and they also have to respond to different internal and external challenges or pressures that constantly change the basis upon which agreements are reached (Frank Pack, p.11).

Considering this wide range of challenges are caused by globalization, which has mainly developed the two most critical aspects of business today i.e. increasing competition and diversity. Thus, leading an organization has become very efficient work which requires developing and guiding inclusive coalitions of institutions and organizations over extended time periods. It also involves facilitating interdisciplinary over the institutional boundaries technology themes, professional cultures, and sub-territories. Further, leaders also need to ensure comprehensive engagement of local as well as global communities (Frank Pack, p.14). Thus, leadership requires not only managing people, but also several other aspects including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Sustainability

Sustainable development of an organization means that it has to adopt business strategies and activities that meet the requirements of the firm and its stakeholders today, while securing, enhancing, and sustaining the natural and human resources that will be required in future (John Luffrum, p.6). Research indicates that there are three principle elements of sustainability: ...
