Management and Leadership

For many individuals, managers and leaders are terms often used in the same context, but unfortunately, they are not synonymous. While managers are faced with many tasks each and every day one of which is leading people the main goal of a successful manager is to achieve the maximum output of the organization by way of administrative implementation. Managers need to communicate effectively with their assigned staff. The lack of communication skills can hinder a manager from conveying ideas and key points which can lead to stress and or frustration. In this paper I will discuss the roles and responsibilities of leaders in creating and maintaining a healthy organizational culture, differentiate between management and leadership, describe the roles that organizational managers and leaders play in creating and maintaining a healthy organizational culture, explain the impact of globalization and management across borders, and recommend two strategies that organizational managers and leaders can use to create and maintain a healthy organizational culture(Schein, 1992).

To have a truly successful organizational culture is to have one which will be a benefit to every member of the company from the very top to the very bottom. Energizer's culture is listed as team-driven, participatory, ethical and passionate (Energizer, 2009).
