Introduction

In today's rapidly changing business and technological environment everything changes very fast. In other words, it can be said that there is nothing permanent except change. The issue change management is linked to the management of the organisation because change and development are interconnected concepts (Taghizadeh & Zeinalzadeh, 2012). In fact, it is the development that aid to change and any change is a development for not only the organisation but also for employees working in that organisation. The topic of change management as received a widespread attention from various researchers, academic institutions, business organisations and industries as major businesses have realised the importance of change management in this competitive environment (Andriopoulos & Dawson, 2008). Similarly the role of creativity cannot be avoided as it allows an organisation to deliver unique product or services to its customers as well as enable the organisation to compete within its competitive environment.

In fact, the issue of change management is nothing new as the concept emerged during the eighties and nineties, and is now rapidly expanding and developing (Thompson & Choi, 2005). In addition, much has been written about this issue as there are many books and articles devoted to this topic. Researchers believe that it is essential to understand the theory of change, which explains that what a change is and how it develops the process of change. It is also essential to know that some companies develop only one aspect of change management and initiate process to transform its structure in relation to processes or development (Brown, 2009). There are also many companies that experience the process of managing change in a particular sector or area of their business. Whatever the strategy a company adopts, it is vital to know that change is a regular contain of business world and creativity plays a significant role in the process of transformation of any organisation (Andriopoulos & Dawson, 2008). This paper aims to discuss the management of change and creativity in an organisational context.

Discussion

No doubt, today most organisations believe that they must bring changes to develop and grow as the continuous prevalence of innovation in industries threatens others who do not change or bring innovation (Brown, 2009). Creativity has been recognised as a vital ingredient of innovation and if a company does not have ability to develop new ideas, it would not be difficult for them to survive where a strong competition exist. It would not be wrong to say that every company needs to understand that change and creativity are important factors in order to survive in the environment as the concept of change management can be seen as preparation for the future (Beach, 2005). It is a fact that every organisation consists of people and believes that organisational change is a way to transform the behaviour of its people.
