Understanding processes for recruiting and selecting working individuals in Health Care

In order to plan recruitment for the position in health and social care, there are several factors that are needed to be taken into account for effective recruitment. Some of the factors are: The strategic mission and vision of the Health Care Organisation, Creating a culture for the employees that could encourage them to be getting benefits from the works environment as well as to be motivated to do work, Considering the demographic trends, Altering the business trends by changing tradition methods of business, Usual economic conditions to see the opportunities for better serving the economy, Changing the technical resources of an Health Care Organisation, and Considering the appropriate legal and lawful environment as such may influence the practices' areas (Babcock, 2003, p. 48).

In order to enhance the recruiting and selecting process of effective workforce, it must be supported by an excellent documentation and for that a 'Recruitment File' is prepared and retained for a determined time period. For the Health Care Organisation, I will be going to recruit nurse males and females both. I will recruit them on full time basis as in Health Care organisations their presence is mandatory for care of patients ever time. The nurses must possess some good and effective knowledge about nursing and must be certified as it is the matter of a human's health (Nail & Scharinger, 2002, p. 256).

Some of the tools are necessarily elements which are used for recruiting and then the selecting the new employees in a work setting. Such are: Collecting the data and analysis of that data, Establishing the policies and objectives of human resources, Developing and executing the action plans, Assessing the impacts of such plans, and Job Analysis which is comprised of 'Job Description' and 'Job Specification'. The Job Description for recruiting nurse staff will be describing duties and responsibilities of the nurses that are requires in Health Care such as: they must be caring, and treating patients kindly and in loving ways so that they could get better soon. They must also be well trained in providing all kinds of medications as well as injections and drips etc. The Job Specification will be describing the skills and abilities that must present in the nursing staff and that are: they must be attentive, caring, and alert, must be certified in their competencies, must be punctual, and medically trained. (Mondy, 2008, p. 88).

For gathering the data, a SWOT analysis is a better starting as it is necessary for planning of human resources to consider all the internal as well as external environments of Health Care Organisation. SWOT analysis looks for Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats both internally and ...
