Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to explore the blended marriage and the concept of blended children. The blended marriage is a relationship where the couple is either divorced or have had a separation from their last relationship. The blended children are the children that are the biological children of on half of the married couple. These children may belong to the bride or the groom; however, in certain scenarios the bride and the groom both may have their children from their last relationship or marriage. In this scenario there are several issues that may arise as the blended children find it hard to adjust with their new parents. Ultimately the blended children decide to create separation among their blended parents by misusing the terminology that their biological parents are more attached to them as compared to their blended children or their partner.

The sustainability of blended marriage depends upon the initiatives from both sides. Nowadays both the male and female population is engaged in the professional life (Albrecht, Bahr, Goodman, 89). The husband and wife rarely get time for each other; this increases the chances for the misunderstanding. This is the scenario that is very well utilized by blended children to create separation among their parents. The concept of blended marriage trend is raised because the concept of love and compassion are blurring today. Hence, most of the relationships end up with a separation or divorce. In early 18th century marriage was considered the destination of true love, but nowadays couples start living-in relationship to evaluate the sustainability of their relationship (Dennis, 101).

The trend of blended marriage has emerged due to the increase in the divorce rates in the society. This increasing trend of divorce has compelled people to give themselves a second chance in form of selecting a blended partner. The success or failure of any relationship whether it is blended marriage or the anything else depends upon the perception of an individual (Dennis, 101). The perception of love today is that it fades away with time. This scenario provides great opportunity to the blended children to cause the misunderstanding or design a plan to separate their blended parents. This paper will explore the concept of blended marriage, address the issues pertaining blended children involved in this relationship and the steps through which a newly married couple can counter with the initiatives of their blended children designed to separate them.

Most of the families nowadays fall into the category of blended families.
