To establish the conditions and safety procedures to prevent occupational hazards, caused by handling materials manually and using machinery. The correct application of this standard requires the training of workers to perform these maneuvers safely. The standard requires the employer to inform workers of the risks they face when making material handling either with the support of machinery or equipment, or manually, based on train safety procedures written in Spanish for the installation, operation and maintenance of machinery, same to be submitted to preventive maintenance and record in adherence to a program that is established based mainly on the manufacturer's recommendations. Standard also requires that has a code of signals or communications system and train him, to those operators and assistants involved in the material handling equipment as well as to provide personal protective equipment (Brun, 2006).

The safety standards listed below are aimed at informing the basic safety rules by which both workers and supervisors can coordinate their joint efforts towards the prevention of accidents. Specific rules are applicable to the various activities and tasks, which can be discussed with your supervisor and / or the Safety Division. 

One of the important points to consider all employees regarding their work is the need to work safely for him, and observe the safety guidelines that are prescribed for each task. Supervisors shall ensure the compliance and security requirements and take appropriate action to correct and improve any condition or practice harmful to health or safety. 

General Safety

Whenever you are doing their jobs pay the most attention, distraction is a major cause of accidents.
