Ancient Mexico is dwelling to some of the earliest and most advanced civilizations in the western hemisphere. This district is known historic as Mesoamerica. Mesoamerica is used to mention to the geographical and cultural traditions of the pre-Columbian civilizations that are as pursues: Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. There were six key civilizations in Mexico; they were, The Olmecs, Teotihuacans, Toltecs, Mayans, Zapotec (Mixtec), and the Aztecs.

The Olmecs were the first heritage established in Mexico. They had a large leverage on the other evolving tribes. The Olmecs are said to have one of the most baffling cultures, because there is not much information on where they came from or why they disappeared. The Olmecs dwelled between 1500 and600 BC, in the swampy lowlands of Tabasco and Veracruz. They were very smart peoples that calculated numbers and observed satellites to pattern a calendar. Many temples and sites with invaluable jade figurines were constructed, but were destroyed between 900 and 400 BC.

The mysterious heritage of very old Maya one time covered a vast geographic area in Central and South America. Their civilization extended to components of what are now Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador, and most of Guatemala and Belize.

The Mayans first settled in 1500BC. The Mayans natural environment comprised of tropical rainforests, which was also one of their major sources of resources; they turned the jungles into large cities. The rainforest would supply them with nourishment, apparel, tools for fighting, tools, and numerous more useful items. It rained almost every day, but the temperature was not cold at least in the daytime. The environment performed a foremost function in what the Mayans heritage became; they required rain and heat to survive both the humans and the animals. The Mayans learned the procedures of doing things like planting plantings, making apparel, jewelry etc. The Mayans grew mainly maize (corn), beans, and squash together with yucca, manioc, and sweet potatoes (FloraMex, online).

The Mayans had over 800 symbols for their writing system. It is said to be the most convoluted form of writing. The most significant to the east Maya dialects are Quiche, and Cakchiquel. The largest western Maya dialect is Tzeltal, voiced in Chiapas Mex. The Mayans had another 15 languages.

The Mayans way of learning was educated to only the higher authority such as clerics, leader/chiefs, conflict managers etc. As far as the rest of the Mayan community went, discovering and discovering lived in their dwellings, where their parents educated them information that they knew for growing up and data that passed down to them generation to generation.

Their numerical system was founded on emblems, which were given a worth according to place and the notion of zero existed. Three symbols were used in writing numbers, a dot for one and a bar for five and a stylized shell for zero. All other figures were in writing by blending these.
