Introduction and Background

Effective immediately, this memorandum shall consider the aspects of punctuality, deportment, drinking, cleaning, responsibilities and teamwork. The intent of this memorandum is to provide the residents of the boat with more effective hospitality services towards the clients and towards each other. The facilities of the boat are to be used for providing advantages to everyone who is related to the boat itself. It provides assistance in eating, drinking, cleaning, punctuality, client-care etc. This involves coming up with a few policies related to major aspects which can make the hotel services be more effective.

Punctuality

It has been noticed that employees who show up to work early have plenty of time to spare and complete their tasks on time.

Significance

A set punctuality policy helps in setting standards related to arrival of the employees. Employees who arrive late to the office affect their own productivities and others. The boat's management has to set timings for each employee so that other employees who have tasks related to each other are not affected, in case if one of them is arriving late. Here, the staff may have to ask other staff members to complete the pending tasks, affecting their own responsibilities in order to keep the hotel running in the absence of any staff member. Unpunctuality may frustrate the employees who arrive early to work. If the boat's staff does not address these issues, this may result in the occurrence of unprofessional behaviors.

Policy basics

This involves defining the word “Punctual” to the employees which means that the employees have to be present at their workstations before their shift timings actually commence. The policy shall include the actions to be taken against an employee if he shows up late involving warning and punishments.

Implementation

The policy has to be consistently implemented in order to maintain its effectiveness. The hotel staff has to plan a meeting where all employees have to gather in order to discuss the policy. The policy also asks for employee questions and recommendations. The employees then shall sign the policy in order to remain effective.

Exceptions

In a few cases, disabilities in some employees can give leniencies to them. The employers are required to make accommodations for the disabled person according to the American with Disabilities Act. Here, flexibilities in the punctuality policy can be given to those members whilst making sure that the services towards the client are not affected.

Deportment

The hotel staff has to be trained in order to escort the clients with dignity and frankness. There are a few civilities that the hotel staff is required to offer to its clients. Acting courteously towards the client upon their arrival shall ensure them that they will have a pleasant stay at the hotel.
