Introduction

The purpose of this essay is to analyze my performance as a mentor. I will explore how to form these relationships, cultivated and maintained, reflect on the challenges that are faced during the course of facilitating the learning process, and critically analyze the mentor's role in delivering the learning (Wigens 2006, Pp. 44-58). I will also discuss what feedback processes and strategies will enhance and develop the learning process, the role of the mentors in general, and the overall accountability in facilitating the learning process. Finally, the essay will conclude with the challenges that I have faced and that are yet to come for me as a mentor.

Mentoring

A mentor is a personal, portable, no cost resource to help you set and meet your unique goals. Mentors are much more than "go-to" people. Mentors are champions of learning. Mentors take a position of high interest and investment in another's development. They want to mentor (Welsh and Swann 2002, Pp. 25-37). They share knowledge, encouragement, guidance, and feedback about job content and organizational culture. They advocate for their mentees' successes. Mentoring provides encouragement and structure to support the mentee. In the ideal world, mentoring and being mentored is business as usual. There are many views on the definition of mentoring, especially in personal and professional coaches as more recent popularity.

Traditionally, the guide may have been described as a person of another (the instructor) of the person (mentor) for, in order to help his or her career, other people do the work more effective and / or progression of events. Guidance may be the person who is "out there, that is to do “before. A teacher may use various methods, such as counselling, training and counselling. Today, it seems that there are many ongoing discussions and definitions and differences regarding the counselling and guidance, the argument - so you may have seen the coach's topic (Claridge and Lewis 2005, Pp. 16-29).

As far as my view of Mentorship is concerned, it refers to the relationship of personal development between a person who is more experienced and knowledgeable and those who are inexperienced or those who do not know. However, according to my knowledge the modern usage of the word mentor is taken as a trusted friend, counsellor or teacher, usually a more knowledgeable person. Some industries have "mentoring programs” that new immigrants paired with experienced people who advise them, and as an example, because of their progress. Schools sometimes provide improved guidance programs for students, or students with difficulties.

Different Theories of Mentoring

There are a number of theories concerning the concept of mentoring. All of the theories of mentoring discuss more or less the same thing.

Self-efficacy theory

Bandura set a view in which beliefs (thoughts) that people have about themselves are key to control and personal competence in which individuals are seen as products and producers in their own environment and its own social system (Evans, Hodkinson, Rainbird and Unwin 2006, Pp. 47-58).
