Minority influence

Abstract

The topic chosen for the research is minority influence in the political elections. This research is being carried for professional interest and describes the importance of minority influence in politics. System thinking model is a model which denotes the process in which things are linked with one another. A second set of research on minority representation is more relevant to the immediate question of the differences in minority versus nonminority lawmakers' policy dispositions. In conclusion, most scholarship on minority representation focuses on whether there is an "additive" effect of representation, where minority legislators are "more" supportive of minority concerns or general liberal policy goals than white legislators.

The topic chosen for the research is minority influence in the political elections. This topic has been chosen because this topic is in continuous debate. Minority influence is considered as a sort of social influence in which the minority influences the majority beliefs and behaviours. The majority influence is known as conformity. It is also considered as the central component of identity politics. There have been many studies carried out by scholars belonging to various field about the minority influence in political elections. This research is being carried for professional interest and describes the importance of minority influence in politics.

Systems thinking model

This is a model which denotes the process in which things are linked with one another. This model is understood as the method which is chosen for problem solving and how to achieve the objectives of solving problems. A leader has a huge responsibility in keeping everyone associated with one another and work. In this research we will be interviewing leaders belonging to various backgrounds. The interviews will help in accessing the information about the role of minority in politics and how they are connected.Representation is a fundamental concern in democratic politics (Kymlicka, 2005), and substantive representation are especially significant in racially and ethnically diverse societies (Young, 2000). The potential value of minority representation, or the election of representatives who share the racial or ethnic background of their constituents, is that these officials will not only look different from but also act differently than nonminority representatives and, thus, presumably be stronger advocates for minority concerns. This difference between racial and ethnic minority versus nonminority legislators is ostensibly driven by shared experiences that are unique and particularly important to minority groups.

The model also includes a set of variables regarding congressional district-level constituency characteristics that have been associated with support for minority interests or with ideology more generally. We include data on four racial/ethnic group measures in the models. Proportion white is the proportion of the district that is white, non- Hispanic. Proportion Latino is the proportion of the district population that is of Latino or Hispanic origin. Proportion black is the proportion of the population that is black, and proportion Asian is the proportion of the population that is of Asian background.
