Thesis Statement

Ethical and moral framework is the principle focus of the study which is built up on the foundation of working in community as a change representative.

Case Study

The case we have subjected to discuss is of the African American student, Ronnie, who moved to White community with his family and attends his higher schooling there. In a very quick pace of time he became the victim of racial jokes in his school and experienced isolation due to his races differences. One of his teachers noticed his weird behavior and silent mode which rooted due to making him cut off. She sent him to the school counselor for aiding him in a way so that he can get out from the situation. The counselor is already aware with the discrimination in school and she easily understood the problem which Ronnie was having. In this regard, the mental counselor determines that instead of asking Ronnie to ignore all the prejudice he is suffering but they should try to change the racist behavior of the school and community.

Significant ethical issues in the case

According to a recent study published by the American Psychological Association, The major issue faces by black Americans is the races differences which become the reason of mental symptoms in Blacks. It is similar to trauma and can lead to other physical discrepancy between Whites and blacks in the population of US. Previously studies were linked between mental health and racism but it is the foremost meta-analysis totally based on the subject of Black Americans. The relation amid professed racism and self-reported gloominess is quite vigorous which provides an alarm that experience of racism which plays the significant role in the health disparities happenings. For instance, African Americans have high pace of hypertension, a crucial condition which has been associated with depression and stress.

The code of ethics of the American Psychological Association applies only on psychologists' activities that are part of their educational and professional role as a counselor. The code of ethics covered the areas which are not only limited to the counseling, clinical and school practice of psychology. These ethics codes apply on variety of activities in different contexts. Members of the American Psychological Association commits with their student and members to comply the whole standard of codes and the regulations used to put in force. and Lack of consciousness and Misunderstanding of an Ethical code is not tolerable to guard from a accuse of immoral conducts.

According to American School Counseling Association, it comes in the accountability of the school counselor to aid a child in order to develop useful skills, analyze their personal potency, belongings and expression of feelings to offer a foundation of the child's social and personal growth. In the same role, school counselor should join forces with both the students and with teachers and parents.
