Introduction

To establish belief with the people of an American Indian society can be complicated. Several ethnic groups were ruined as a consequence of the preface of European catching diseases. In addition, lots of treaties prepared by the United States regime with ethnic group were wrecked.

Discussion

Native American Indians are the indigenous population of America, who were displaced through the corridor of land, was the Bering Strait in northeastern Siberia to the continent since 10 thousand years before the decline of the last ice age. They were settled by thousands of years before Europeans after the discovery of the New World in the 15 century AD. This was the corridor and then linking the north and west of North America, northeast Asia (Prucha 2006).

The first inhabitants were able to harness the natural resources and accustomed to the climate and the land on which they live. During thousands of years they have set up their cultures and civilization in northeastern Africa. As considered an integral part of American culture, Native Americans today are declining in number. They were a lot of content, who lived and ate well, and had recorded clearly the roles of men and women. While the men hunted and served as warriors and defenders, Native American Indian home care and home. The arts and crafts as weaving baskets and making blankets were also an important part of their lives. Each tribe was known for a certain type of work. The food they ate was natural, like nuts, berries, beans and corn. Buffalo, deer and birds were hunted for food. Fish are also an important part of their diet (Trafzer& Diane 2001).

Life began more difficult for Native Americans during late 1800 and 1900, when they had to fight hard to protect their land. Several past presidents of the United States were responsible for passing laws that asked for the removal of Native Americans. Many bloody battles followed, resulting in legendary stories of the "Trail of Tears' which was about the relocation and movement of some tribes. Many of the Native Americans then converted to Christianity and began to dress in European style.

Substance Abuse

At present there are approximately 560 Native American tribes recognized by the federal government. Their condition is not entirely true, since many of them are plagued by problems such as poverty, heart disease and alcohol-related problems.
