Research Design

Research is a systematic study of materials & sources etc. that establish facts & reach new conclusions. The process is very important because it has a huge impact on the conclusions reached at the end of the research. Generally speaking, methodology is the analysis of methods that are, can be, or have been applied with a discipline (Ranjit kumar, 2010). Research methodology is a documented process for the management of projects that contain procedures, definitions & explanations of techniques used to collect, analyze, store & present the information as a part of research process.

Methodology, Paradigm

Research methodology refers to philosophy used in research; it includes theoretical works & development of paradigms that satisfy most of the requirements for the methodology. A paradigm is a constructive framework which means it has to be logical, rather than a physical, array of connected or intercalated elements. This assignment uses positive paradigm to describe the strategies adopted by Nestle. The assumption is that the researcher is independent and is not affected by, nor affects the subject of the research. The paradigm adopted important assumptions on the research & the way in which the researcher understands the subject (Ranjit kumar, 2010). This assignment has carried out a research which is both qualitative & quantitative in its support. The research is both descriptive & inductive and will have extensive use of literature available to carry out a detailed research on the marketing strategies adopted by Nestle India to attract & retain customers.

Methods of Collection & Analysis of Data

The data that is collected has to be processed & analyzed in accordance with the outline laid down for the purpose at the time of developing a research plan. It is essential for the studying & ensuring that the research has all relevant data for making contemplated comparisons & analysis. This research proposal has been done after data being collected from the responses of the persons interviewed & questioned. The nature of the data uses both primary sources & secondary sources used in collection of data & information.

Primary Data Collection Method

The primary data is collected through oral interviews & telephone interviews. These interviews will be semi-structured and unstructured interviews, which will help this research, get answers to precise areas, give clarification and allow the interviewee to express their opinion freely & give me the opportunity to get information that could be useful to do my research which may not necessarily exist. These sources are expected to provide qualitative data for the research to be conducted. The qualitative data will be collected, analyzed, processed & subsequently stored.
