The Impact of I.T Infrastructure on Blue Sky

ABSTRACT

The flexibilioty of IT infrastructure has now being considered as a core competency of an organization that's crucial for companies to prosper and survive in competitive, dynamic, and rapidly changing environments of businesses. Through utilization of data, the research examined the affects of the 4 IT infrastructure's components flexibility, those four componenets are IT personnel, modularity, connectivity, and compatibility, on alignment of strategic business of IT and the degree of implementations of applications within Blue Sky. The results from examination of a structural model give facts that IT personnel, modularity, and connectivity have considerable, constructive affects on alignment of strategy and that all 4 elements have considerable, positive affects on the degree of implementations of applications. The research strengthens the significance of flexibility of infrastructuer of IT to organizations as single basis for sustainable comparative advantage.

The Impact of I.T Infrastructure on Blue Sky

Introduction

A Blue Sky event is an organization that devices and runs large outdoor events. They have been commissioned to organize and run an event for four months over the summer period in a Welsh slate quarry (Burghouwt, 2007, pp.96-105). The event is an outdoor adventure experience where groups can book a week at a time to experience the wilds of central Wales. A local development agency, a couple of charities working with underprivileged youngsters and some European regeneration money has been made available for the venture (Doganis, 2001, pp.89-98).

The administrative offices make us of the original quarry building. This is a two storey building that also accommodates a shop, a restaurant, entertainment facilities and a 20 seat IT workshop (Doganis, 2004, p. 547). Twenty cabins are to be built here to accommodate visitors with mobility issues. These are known as the Home cabins and are in two groups either side of the main complex. Each of the Home cabins has two bedrooms Small kitchen, wet room and lounge (Forsyth, 2007, pp.45-52).

The remaining accommodation will be grouped in six 'islands' arranged around the quarry floor. Each of the island cabins has three twin bed bedrooms, shower room, lounge and kitchen/diner (Franke, 2004, pp.15-21). Blue Sky businesses and managers of IT acted in collaboration to build up a latest set of capabilities of infrastructure of I.T that allowed the organization to give the required services for its huge customerbase as well as reduce costs at Blue Sky (Franke, 2004, pp.15-21).

This paper focuses on delivery of modified and custom information in timely manner to its investors. By the use of aligned applications and IT infrastructure of company with its focus on business, Schwab has become a full service oriented organization (Alamdari, Iatrou, 2005, pp.127-134). The company was capable of providing process transactions and information in achieving goals and objectives of tis business. Consequently, the company keep ons to be a leader in industry (Alamdari, 2005, pp.127-134).
