Introduction

Obesity is kind of obsession or addiction towards a thing for example people were addicted to smoking, addiction of taking sleeping pills and several other kinds of addictions. Among these the recent addition is obesity especially among young adults or teenagers. American society is currently facing a persistent increase in the obesity. Obesity is more among the adults and has caused several implications on the health of these adults. The research report will provide the answer of the research question that what are the major reasons of increasing obesity in adults. Obesity has given birth to several kinds of diseases and each having different effects on the human body. The report will use quantitative and qualitative methodologies like surveys and researches to prove that obesity is increasing, where it is increasing the most, causes of its increase, diseases caused by the obesity and what measures should be taken in order to control obesity.

Discussion

According to National Institute of Health overweight is the excess amount of weight of the body that is reflected by the increase in muscles, bones, fats and water in the body. Whereas obesity is the excessive amount of an adipose tissue. According to Smith, Sweeting and Wright (2012) the rising amount of obesity in many countries have increased the ursengency to deal with the issue as soon as possible because it has economic and health cost attached to with it. The obesity is not among the young adults and teenagers. The actions against obesity can only be taken if awareness is created about the obesity behaviour and the bad effects of obesity.

Methodology

The qualitative research was done by the writers to find out how the adults got to know about overweight or obesity. The concerned of the research was to find out the amount of awareness about obesity among the young adults. The research also took into consideration the psychological effects of obesity on the life of an obese adult or young individual. The research found that children who are affected by overweight or obese are able to make very less friends in the social circle and they are treated negatively. The female adults who are obese or overweight are not happy with their body shape as compared to the ones having very low weight. The research study on the community based samples was able to find very weak relationship between depression and obesity, but self-respect and self-esteem issues have a stronger relationship with obesity. People are more concerned about the shape of their body, image of the body and overall appearance of different parts of the body. The depression is related to the appearance of the body, as people are more concerned to look presentable and each part of the body is well presented.
