It is important to note that when legislature passes any legislation or law, it is termed as Bill before it is passed. When the bill is passed than it is termed as an Act. The occupational health act is a broad term used for the protection of occupational safety, where as there are different regulations established under the Occupational Health Act. There are many rules and regulation that is developed under the Occupational Health and Safety to protect employees of an organization (Western Australia, 2012).

On the other hand, Code of Practice is different tools or guiding principles provided to the people who have to perform work health and safety duties. There are small standards that needs to be followed under the Act. These standards and Code of Practices help the organization to follow the Health and Occupational Act. There are Code of Practices like First Aid Code of Practice, Hazardous Chemical Code of Conduct.

According to Australian Occupational and Safety Health Act, Advance Waste Company must follow following principles and rules in order to ensure Occupation and Safety Health Act. Companies also have to comply with Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 to ensure employee safety.

Overview

A company operating in Australia must have to comply with Australian Standards of Occupational Health and Safety as published in Standards Australia. If any company breaches these standard than penalties would be imposed on the basis of regulation 1.15 penalty.

•Preventive health must be included in planning processes.

•Hazards should be avoided or minimized.

•Hazards are rectified at the source.

•Technology, organization, social, environmental and man must be included.

•In all actions to secure the labor with scientific knowledge and state of the art.

•The effectiveness of measures must be reviewed and improved constantly.

•People need to be informed and involved.
