An alternative leadership style for Stephen can be the transformational leadership style i.e. "transforms" subordinates by challenging them to rise above their immediate needs and interests, emphasizes individual growth, both personally and professionally and in the enhancement of the organization. This style allows the leader to benefit from the skills and knowledge of experienced subordinates that might have better ideas regarding how to accomplish a mission. You also get outstanding results when organizations are facing a crisis, instability, mediocrity and disappointment. It is not recommended if subordinates are inexperienced. For its part, the transactional leadership style and techniques used to motivate subordinates to work by offering rewards or threatening punishments, assign the writing tasks, outlining all the conditions for a mission to complete and give manage by exception, i.e., revealing only what the subordinate has done incorrectly (www.thetimes100.co.uk).

Other management style that Stephen might consider is the transformational leadership style. The above theory states that a team can achieve success by working together with a clear vision. They should have the capability to; properly communicate their passion into their work. It also includes the ability to transmit the vision to the team members. This must clear regarding what he want to accomplish and what help, whether it is technical expansion, career growth, objectivity, creativity, connections, etc. A leader should examine him and should be honest about what you need to keep doing, stop doing, and start doing to get there. There are many strengths and weaknesses of leaders.

The leader who relies solely on the transactional style, combined with the transformational not only get short-term commitment of their subordinates but also make people afraid to take risks and innovate, as well as feeling that their efforts might seem selfish.
