Introduction

One of the best ways to bring about a change in the organization is to inject change into the human capital of the firm. This enables the organization to bring about change from the grass-root level. Some organizations provide direct career development assistance to employees. These interventions include workbooks, computer-assisted career management programs, career workshops, courses for minorities assisting them to promote their own careers, and individual career counseling. Organizations now frequently seek out ways to engage in outplacement. This initiative enables organizations to assist terminated employees through restructuring. As a result, terminated individuals are brought into positions from where they become capable of coping with the disruption to their careers and find new employment and career direction.

Promoting the pursuit of higher education

By promoting an organizational culture that encourages employees to pursue higher education, the Army Police will enter a phase in which it develop extensively. In essence, such an organizational culture brings two advantages for the organization.

Firstly, it will allow the Army Police to retain quality human resource. Quality human resource is an organization's most significant asset in the modern day global economy. Without quality human resource, an organization cannot succeed in its respective industry. By providing employees with an opportunity to pursue higher education and supporting them in doing so, the Army Police will improve retention. The setup will also help to motivate talented human resource to stay on with the organization for longer. Since the employees will pursue professional education under the program, they can rest assured that their education will support their careers and development. In essence, the employees will begin to recognize the Army Police as a place where they can learn and grow (Dowling & Welch, 2004). Furthermore, these measures will also serve to improve the Army Police's image as an employer; thereby attracting quality human resource.

The second advantage of implementing such an organizational culture is that the Army Police will benefit from the training and development that the employees experience as a result of the higher education.
