Organizational Redesign and Innovations

Introduction

Innovation is essential in today's world as it encourages the creation of new ideas and concepts. The benefits of innovation are numerous and are utilized by a myriad of entities. For instance, businesses use innovation to ensure that they stay on top of their game. Only through innovation are they able to keep up with shifting consumer preferences, evolving market trends and changing tastes (Clark, 2003). This greatly helps them in widening their competitive moat in a highly competitive market.

Apart from the manifold benefits that it provides on an organizational level, innovation can also offer a wide range of benefits on a personal level. People who innovate are often the ones who achieve the highest level of success. This has proved to be detrimental for the university as it has resulted in fresh graduates facing problems in employment due to the lack of an extensive network. Moreover, the university has also been unable to provide testimonials of experienced pass outs who have achieved much in their professional lives. This has meant that the students are unable to gain an insight into the capacity of the university to establish the best careers for their graduates (O'Sullivan & Dooley, 2009).

By creating the Online Helix Alumni Network, the university will be able to ensure that all its students, even those who have passed out several years ago, are able ...
