Advancement in technology is producing it simpler for businesses to compete in the international market. One such tendency is the creation and use of technology, Resource, and planning schemes, renowned as ERP. Unlike legacy schemes that concentrated on restricted localities of an organization's data schemes, ERP schemes supply an entire suite of programs goods to function a whole organization. Exxon Mobil Chemical is in the method of applying an ERP scheme renowned as SAP, cipher title Global Enterprise Management System (GEMS). This paper presents the organizational expertise design for the business, focusing on how GEMS is aiding the business in gathering its objectives. Strategic marketing planning examines three areas: their own business, competitors and the current business environment. The Business Portfolio Analysis examines strengths and weaknesses of organizational market growth rate and relative market share. The Market Product Analysis (MPA) views growth opportunities of markets and products. These tools provide management with their current position and assists with resource allocation based on the company's objectives.

Exxon Mobil Chemical, a subsidiary of the world's number one oil company, Exxon Mobil, is one of the world's largest chemical companies. "Exxon Mobil Chemical ranks first or second in making many petrochemicals, including benzene and toluene, as well as polyolefin's such as polypropylene and high-density and linear low-density polyethylene. The company also is a major producer of olefins such as ethylene and propylene, used to make polyolefin's, aromatics, and specialty chemicals. The company uses its polyolefin's to make films for packaging and labeling, and also licenses some of its process technology".( Partheymuller, 2004, 126)

Exxon Mobil Chemical's global organization has four regions, each with a regional director. Richard V. Pisarczyk is regional director; Americas and is located in Houston. K. Peter Peschak is regional director for Europe, and Michael J. Dolan is regional director for Middle East & Africa. Both will be located in Brussels. Stan G. Tebbe is regional director for Asia Pacific, and Singapore is his base. Exxon Mobil Chemical's organization is a combination of three components. "The Company and its affiliates will operate as a matrix organization designed to integrate three components global businesses, geographic regions and global support functions. The broad portfolio of products and associated technology activities is managed within four global business groupings Basic Chemicals, Polymers, Intermediates and Films.

Current Technology Assessment

Exxon Mobil Chemical is in the process of implementing a top-shelf version of SAP the company code named Global Enterprise Management System (GEMS). The global implementation began in the United States in January 2003 and Asia in October of that year.
