Introduction

The management style can have a significant impact on the success of an organisation. Well-managed staffs are generally satisfied, motivated and committed. This in turn has a positive effect on customer satisfaction. Empirical studies show that companies with above-average employee and customer satisfaction are also economically successful.

In organizations, change is inevitable. To operate effectively, they must adapt to a certain style of management that respects the basic organizational culture.

The management of a company or any of its functions always happens in specific systemic contexts and is influenced by situational variables of the internal and external environment. The recent history of management reflects this influence.

The telecommunications revolution, technological innovation and market globalisation have transformed the business during the century.

The name "Oxfam" comes from Oxford Committee for Famine Relief, an organization founded in Britain in 1942. During the Second World War, the group campaigned for food to be sent, despite the naval blockade of the Allies, women and children starving in Greece, and then occupied by the enemy.

Oxfam is not only becoming one of the world's leading providers of emergency measures, but also implements programs for long-term development in vulnerable communities. We are also part of a global movement campaigning with others to put an end to unfair trade rules, demand better health services and education and fight against climate change.

Today, 14 organizations are members of the confederation Oxfam International. They are located in: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Spain, United States, France, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Netherlands and Quebec.

It is a phenomenon that supposedly stays with new management methods and management practices, the problems still often the same. Often it crunches in the level of relationship between managers and employees. A large number of employees in the non-profit sector feel poorly informed, not taken seriously or ignored in important decision-making. As a result, the employees are dissatisfied, there are high levels of absenteeism and motivation is not the one you want.
