In the modern world, knowledge is a necessity. Knowledge comes from education. Education can be regarded as the key to success in the present. All the tasks need education for their successful accomplishment. With the passage of time, all the professions and fields are becoming focuses as well as professionalized. Therefore, the demand and the need for education have risen drastically. In the past days, tasks that could be performed by anyone having a little knowledge of the subject now require highly expert personnel. In order to excel in a particular field, education has now become mandatory. No one can become skilled in his or her profession or subject until and unless he or she is well educated in that subject or profession.

In the world at present, education of a child has become one of the foremost priorities of the parents. Education starts as soon as a child starts to understand things a little bit. Parents try their best to get their child educated in the best way. They put their best efforts in this regard. They are aware of the importance of education in the modern world, and its requirements as well. Parents take keen interest in the education progress of their child.

In urban areas, access to schools is quite easy. Besides educational institutes, all other facilities related to education are available in urban areas. However, parental involvement in urban schools is quite necessary. Parents also feel quite comfortable being involved in their child's education. In urban schools, there are immense opportunities for a child to engage in extracurricular activities, besides academic activities. Extracurricular activities and recreational activities help a lot in education. These activities also help in keeping a child healthy. Physical health has a considerable impact on educational progress. Parents should encourage their child to participate in such activities (Lippevelde et al., 2012).

Literature Review

Education is deeply associated with learning. Learning is a continuous process. A person continues to learn throughout his or her life. The form of learning may change with time, but the outcome is learning new things. Parents have a deep impact over their child. To address the research problem of how parental involvement affects children's performance in school, the social learning theory and the theories on identifying formation will be discussed. Social cognitive theory, earlier known as social learning theory, proposes that factors like environmental influences, personal factors, and attributes of one's behavior effect behavior change.

Although rooted in many of the basic concepts of traditional learning theory, it deemed that direct reinforcement could not account for all types of learning. His theory contributed a social element to learning claiming that people learn from one another, via observation, imitation, and modeling.
