Phillis Wheatley shows how in his poem, "On Being Brought from Africa to America," the religion of slaves allowed to form a kind of relationship or similarity between themselves and their hosts. This connection, of course, begins with God. Child of the Americas is a poem by Aurora Levins Morales that tackles social diversity. It is a poem about an American who came from a mixture of various cultures that comprise her heritage and her identity as an American.

Aurora Levins Morales has written the poem Child of the America that is surrounded by social diversity. In this poem a person is shown having cultural mixture and he has become American compromising on his own heritage. Aurora mention in the movie that when they became slaves and were transported to America they were forced to become American. In the starting they were just slave but when time passed by the formally became Americans. They are those people who are called African American. Africa lies in their heart but still they have formulated themselves according to Americans.

The difference between both porm lies in the context of the poem. Phillis Wheatley in his poem talks about spirituality of African people who were forced to become slaves. Going through the poem we can say that freedom is not the most important thing for slaves, there are some intangible things which are more important. Slaves go throught a lot of harsh situations during slavery. Religion was one thing which kept them stronger to handle tough time. There are a lot of things which one can get from religion such as hope, trust, and feeling that everything is going to be alright.
