Introduction

This paper focuses on the political policies of Canada and the consequences of the political policies, alliances, and inter-connectivity of European, Russian, and North and South American countries in the early part of the 20th century. Almost every progressive change approved by Canadians and incorporated into the Canadian identity dates from this cycle of realignment — including Medicare, old-age pensions, unemployment insurance, public broadcasting, accessible public high schools, colleges and universities, as well as advanced civil rights legislation and human rights mechanisms.
