The United Nations has developed the Security Council in order to preserve peace and security and safeguarding the rights of different nations. One of the major purposes of Security Council is to save nations from the scourge of war. It mandates the nations to avoid any threat or use of force or any other manner against the nation's sovereignty and political independence of other countries. It mandates them to settle disputes by peaceful means. However, on March 17, 2003, U.S, Britain, and Spain put efforts in the Security Council to obtain get approval of raging force against Iraq. Thus, the Security Council has made decisions and raged war against those entities that had the potential to become threats to the international peace. All attacks raged are based on strong premises and all actions taken are justified and based on facts. This research is aim to find out the role Security Council has played to maintain international peace and security and to restore peace, during and after Iraq war.

Today an elaborated international legal framework is developed for civil, political, social and economical human rights, where justice and order holds immense importance (Jackson & Sorensen, 1999, p.4). For maintaining peaceful international relations, international politics is really important. As international politics involves ethical quandaries like whether torture is justified in order to remove terrorism or whether it is right to stand aside in the face of genocide. It involves highest humankind aspirations such as ending war and lowest depths of society sink like terrorism, mass murder and others (D'Anieri, 2011, p.4). Today nations are using their political power without addressing these ethical quandaries. A nation can use power to secure and promote its vital interests in international politics such as to save its population from terrorism or to cooperate with other nations in order to bring peace (Chatterjee, 2004, p.59). However, today nations are misusing their power by trying to force their decisions upon other. The United Nation has developed Security Council for strengthening international relations by maintain peace and security globally.
