Description of Work

Human Resources Assistants are responsible for assisting management of daily operations of the department of human resources. Perform specific tasks in the training and development, employee relations, organizational development, compensation and benefits. To compile and maintain records of employees and provide the necessary information from authorized persons when needed. The Human Resources Assistant supports one or more parts of the missions assigned to his supervisor in human resources.

It is responsible for administrative management (establishment payroll, payment of dues, management inputs and outputs) and operational management of staff (recruitment, competency management, training plans). It may also intervene in internal communication, if it is within the HR function (Beatty, 2005)

Nature of Work

Human resources assistants prepare and advertise job openings, screen applicants, schedule interviews, participate in the process of selecting the right candidate, and administer pre-employment examinations. Applicants will be informed of employment if your application has been accepted or rejected. Provide general support for the administration of the company through various functions such as preparation of forms and reports, regular and special composing correspondence, organizing and coordinating meetings with management and staff, the development and maintenance of confidential documents, and other tasks assigned by the HR manager. They interpret, assist and advise employees of the company on benefits administration and leave management. Human resources and research assistants prepare the necessary documents for new hires. Maintain, control and secure confidential and sensitive records such as records of recruitment, organizational changes and employee relations.

To manage and supervise orientation for new employees, including employee benefits and salary records. They ensure that employee records are up to date by updating employee status regularly and on time. human resources assistants help in monitoring the performance evaluation procedures. In the absence of human resources manager, who handle issues and questions, provide information to job seekers, employees and department heads. The additional tasks include participation in the realization of social reporting, participation in the organization of work, supporting the integration of recruits, participating in the development of tools for managing jobs, useful to managers.
