The Scenario

The scenario is that my employer has asked me to give a presentation on the new equipment that will be used on the job. This equipment is used by all employees so everyone needs to know the following: how will it impact their jobs, enhance productivity, and increase income/finances? I also need to explain what was wrong with the old equipment. Was it old, not working, slow/unproductive? What are the reasons for the change in equipment?

Now, my task is to decide which program or application would be best to present this information and why?

When it comes to live presentations at workplace, I am not a supporter of Prezi at all. The reason is that for me, the visuals I am using to present the new equipment to the staff need to do three major things. These visuals are there to help me communicate my message:

1)more interestingly

2)more effectively

3)more memorably

The issue is that I really don't want people to memorize my visual effects. I actually want them to remember my message that this equipment will enhance their productivity and increases finances as well. Moreover, I would like to present them very effectively that why we have brought this change in the organization and what was wrong with the old equipment. Thus, if I use Prezi for communicating my message, my staff will be more attracted towards the images rather than my message. Once, the hook acquires more attention than the message then this is the actual beginnings of a trouble. However, this is not the case with PowerPoint as in with PowerPoint you can help people understand your message in a more simple and easy way.
