There are advantages and disadvantages of public schools. An advantage of the public school is that there is no tuition. Parents pay school taxes, but they pay these taxes if they had children attending public schools. Many parents can not afford to pay tuition for private school options.

A public school offers students the opportunity to learn about people from different backgrounds and cultures. Students receive education in a school system filled with diversity. Public schools have scholars who are middle class and poor. There are scholars of all ethnicities. Children have the opportunity to have a large and diverse group of friends, which is not often the case in a private school.
