Psychological Assessments

Introduction

A mining company has recruited my firm, Futurework Organisation Consultants, for assessing the prospective Australian employees for jobs in Papua New Guinea. The major concern for the mining company is the ability of the applicant to work as part of the team and coping with being far from home. I work as an organizational psychologist in Futurework Organisation Consultants and I have been assigned the task of the mining company. Acquisition and utilization of human resource is very important for the accomplishment of organizational objectives. Human resource management is a core competency of every organization; since the system cannot run it requires human operations. Complete acquisition and maximum utilization of human resource results in increased productivity and decreased cost. They must ensure that they shortlist those candidates that fit their requirements of the job. The further selection process can be job related tests and interviews. For this, the company must develop certain job related tests for their required job and the suitable candidate first has to conduct the test that he has applied for. The test scores will indicate whether the person is suitable or not (Gregory, 2011). After passing the job related tests, the candidates must be asked to come for the interview. From this interview, the overall personality and professionalism ...
