How long have you been in the United States, and how did find your way here?

Carla is 42 years old single Hispanic women, living in USA for about five years. She wants to have a diagnosis of her mental health regarding the daily issues she is facing. In order get cure, she headed USA and concerns doctors regarding his mental disturbance. According to her mental analysis on the basis of her symptoms by the mental health clinic, she is the patient of “Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Have you had tragedy recently you can talk with me?

Carla feel uncomfortable when taking with anyone as she cannot focus properly on what other is asking, and some time even understanding the questions, her attention divert to other topic. ADHD can cause serious disruptions in social and occupational adaptation of patients and therefore, significantly impair their quality of life. In general, you tend to understand ADHD as a disorder only limited to childhood and adolescence, and this lack of resources specialized in the diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of adult patients.

Tell me what you do on a typical day as an accountant? Are you happy in doing what you do?

When Carla was working as an accountant in a firm, she faces many problems regarding her work, as she was unable to concentrate properly on her work, which sometime leads to substantial blunders in working on the financial data. Facing inability to associate a certain behavior to its consequences, leading to two problems in the control of behavior: changes in reinforcement learning mechanisms, and a difficulty in the cancellation of prior behavior strengthened, which would explain the impulsivity and inattention of Carla.

What problems are your symptoms causing at work in regards to your performance?

The present problem is associated with a number of impairments that are affecting her performance, including, family, peers, and occupational performance. The problems not only are causing loss of concentration from work but also affecting the living of Carla. This entry includes an overview of diagnosis and treatment with attention to issues related to Hispanic Americans.

What do you do for Fun and to relax outside of work? Hobbies you enjoy?

According to Carla, her hobbies include listening music and playing games on computer. She doesn't feel valued as with such disorder she feels more comfortable in living alone. She feels more embarrass when people make her fun in front of others as she cannot focus properly on her work or while talking to others.

Do you like going to work?

The feeling of frustration is continuously acting upon Carla's mind. She tries to pay her full concentration towards her work as she enjoys being an accountant, but the problem didn't let her concentrate. She got mix up with numbers and feels ambiguous in certain situations even though knowing everything.
