Statement of the Problem

The study is related to public education, which is an important phenomenon to consider as the education helps people in making decisions that meet present needs without harming their future generations, in this regard; public education is an important phenomenon that should be provided. For that reason, this particular study will focus on the several factors which guide affect the funding of the public schools.

Significance of the Problem

Public education is crucial to study as it has been observed that the funding towards the public education system has been falling with the passage of time, which is affecting the education and literacy rate of the society. The reason of such is the funding of the public education. Moreover, public education is important as education helps in combating poverty and empowers people with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to build a better future.

Research Question

The funding allotted to public schools of the country is influenced by several factors. In addition, public education plays a substantial role in stabilizing the societal and economic grounds of the country by facilitating education and literacy. Different sources argue that the funds required by institutions operating in public education system are not received as per the demand. Hence, public schools lack contemporary technology to facilitate learning and facilities offered to students due to which inclination towards private schools is increasing.

Hypotheses

The research hypotheses of the study include the following:

HO1: There is an association between the public education expenditure and literacy rate which impacts human capital.

HO2: There is an association between the public education expenditure and enrolment in schools.

Variables

The variables that are incorporated in the research include the following:

The dependent variable of the study represents the public education system upon which the influence of independent variables would be analyzed. For this particular study, public education expenditure will be used as the dependent variable.

The independent variables of this study are incorporated after the thorough analysis of the variables that are economic growth which is reflected through the literacy rate which affects human capital and school enrolment.

CHAPTER NO 2: LITERATURE REVIEW

Investment in education particularly in public education is important to include in economic growth as it increases the productivity and reduces the social inequalities within the society. Investments can be measured as education costs as a proportion of GDP. This means that you look at how much of the resources to education in relation to the value of all goods and services produced in a country during a year. These resources include both programs in private and public institutions and private and public funding of public education. The variable shows how a country prioritizes education in relation to other areas when allocating the public resources.
