Similarities:

Many women ran farms and businesses while their husbands were away, as many often are. Some women were in the trade for its own account. Midwives performed an important role in society, as women often pregnancy and childbirth was very dangerous. Older women were supposed to act as advisers to young women.

Differences:

Women were not allowed to participate in committee meetings and was not allowed to participate in the church. As for men, they were freedom of movement from one place to another at will. She was considered a male dominant society.

Farming in New England was never easy, land is very fertile and farmers have been extremely difficult to grow crops and other methods of irrigation, as well as (Henretta, 2001). Part of this was the beginning of winter, which destroyed the crops grown on the farm. Farmers are still able to grow enough food to feed their families (Henretta, 2001).

By the start of 1700's religion had begun to drop-off in the colonies. This was because many of the colonists began to worry and worry about personal wealth and were deviating from their religious rites. But by 1750 religious extremism have become unpopular. Edwards was dismissed of his fans in 1749 and he was later found on the Indian mission. Great Awakening was also focused on maintaining religious recognition in the colonies (Henretta, 2001). One of the main results of the Great Awakening was the single most Americans in a common understanding of Christian faith and life. Education is also one of the main result of the Awakening. College of Princeton, Brown, Rutgers, and Dartmouth all based out of the Awakening. This also resulted in the majority of evangelicals to denounce slavery as sinful.
