Introduction

Racism is a problem that has existed in our society for many years. The roots of racism can be traced back to when slavery was considered normal, and even more than then. Racism happens all the time, every day and everywhere. It is a complex issue that occurs in many different levels. It is a complex issue that occurs in many different levels. Racism in sport is happening more frequently and becoming a major problem. Leagues as the National Hockey League and the Association of Major League Baseball believe that they are implementing rules to diminish the manifestations of racism within the league. The players feel as if the leagues and associations are only aggravating the problem in trying to cope.

In the world of sport racism is happening more often and increasingly a concern. The first major example is that of Jackie Robinson. Robinson is considered a leader in the black community to break the color barrier in the sport of baseball. Although Robinson went through a lot of prejudice, many black athletes today are facing similar problems. The National Hockey League, Major League Baseball, and many other associations concerned with this problem, even today.

Racism is not only occurring in the field. Today the management of sports is more racist in the party. Racism is a problem that exists in the sport when it first originated, and continues to exist even in the world of sport today. Racism was launched in the beginning of the sport when there were two leagues, white and black league. It was in 1947 when Jackie Robinson stepped into the world of baseball white people noted that this was occurring.

At the moment nobody takes care of this because everything was segregated then. The verbal taunting, physical abuse and death threats unleashed on him and his family had the 27 years of age, on the verge of mental breakdown. Robinson got through it ignoring all these comments and using it as the reason he played, to prove to everyone wrong. He realized that he represented an entire race of people to operate and if it would condemn himself and his entire race. He suffered then, as it expects to offer a better future for their children and for black young people around the world, and because they believed, naively, that their sacrifice might help a little to make America the kind of country we were supposed to would be.

Despite all the negativism, Robinson excelled in the big winners of the 1947 Rookie of the Year "and he helps lead his team to the World Series. Robinson, of perseverance throughout his career is what paved the way for black athletes to make a stand and show the world that can compete with white athletes. Robinson, after the race was more than an opportunity for black athletes to play at the same level as white athletes has risen enormously.
