This form of psychoanalysis is common and widespread in the United States and rapidly strengthening its roots internationally (Heppner, 2008).

Reality Therapy is a detailed method of psychoanalysis. This therapy is the work of William Glasser. Glasser's point of view regarding individuals reflects those that suffer from the disability to own their actions and behaviors require help in admitting their mistakes. Their actions, by any stretch of imagination, are unjustifiable. Such individuals require assistance in correcting their actions. For this purpose, therapists use the technique of Reality therapy. Reality therapy seeks to provide assistance to such patients to manage their behaviors and thought processes (Justice, 2003). Reality therapy enables the individual to gain control over their actions and gives them courage to claim responsibility for the consequences of their deeds. This therapy is also helpful in fulfilling their needs and wants in an enhanced manner (Engel, 2008).

Reality therapy endeavors to critically analyze the issues and tribulations the individual is suffering from and come up with answers. It is essential to gain adequate insight into the state of affairs of the patient before beginning to analyze the problems. Lack of insight in to the situation can lead to an incorrect analysis and result in flawed conclusions. The fundamental purpose of this psychoanalysis is to concentrate on how the issues can be resolved without giving undue importance to the explanation behind the dilemma. Through this technique, patients are able to gain adequate control over their actions and behavior in the future. Decision making can also be improved by virtue of this therapy by ensuring all consequences are considered before coming to a conclusion. Patients strive to understand what induced the situation to occur and how it can be avoided in future? It is obligatory to make sure the analysis is assisting patients in moving ahead rather than being stagnant at one point. Successful therapy can help individuals to achieve their ambitions and objectives in life (Rowell, 1998).
