Some researchers and psychologists have developed theories focusing on the many varied components of intelligence. With numerous definitions and types of intelligence to choose from, one of the most common and interesting studies is intelligence is in regards to academia. In relation to the multiple intelligences in the classroom meeting Gardner believes that much intelligence that is extremely important to society is not revered in schools. These days many schools are placing far less value on IQ and standardized tests and placing much more emphasis on Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. This theory has become the guiding foundation for many educational institutions looking for more ways of helping all students through alternative approaches. Teaching to the multiple intelligences allows teachers to take into account the individual differences among children. Every student's mind is different in every aspect from their neighbor; using multiple intelligences as the foundation for teaching helps students learn to really use their minds.  There is the ability to perform multiple classification tasks, order objects in a logical sequence, and comprehend the principle of conservation. Thinking becomes less transductive and less egocentric. The child is capable of concrete problem-solving. The study of intelligence first focused on creating a measurable, standardized intelligence test.
