Domestic Terrorist Groups And Their Significant Impact On America

Abstract

In 1866, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was founded. The Ku Klux Klan was a group of white racist secret societies that preached black inferiority and hatred of foreigners, Catholics, and Jews, and used terrorism and violence to repress minorities. Nathan Bedford Forrest, a former slave trader and confederate general, became its first Grand Wizard in 1868. This report takes a beief look at the inception and various terrorist activities of this group. The Klan was a secret organization designed to frighten blacks away from the polls. Dressing in ghostly white costumes that concealed their identified, the Klansmen rode by night through black communities harassing, beating, and often killing black who tried or attempted to exercise their civil rights. Congress passed several laws designed to suppress the Klan and other secret societies. But these organizations helped to force blacks out of public life.

Demographics

The name "Ku Klux" kuklos a withdrawal from the Greek word meaning "stripe" or "circle". In the infamous Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was organized in May or early June 1866 in a law office in Pulaski, six veterans bored Confederation (hereinafter referred to as "immortal six"). Originally founded in the late Civil War, the Ku Klux Klan was a white supremacist groups that used violence and intimidation in order to restore white supremacy in the United States. In various industries in the KKK, all had a common goal: to maintain the superiority of the white race over the Black Americans. White supremacy is an ideology that said that was the white race over all other races. It is for this reason that only WASP in the White Anglo-Saxon Protestant, may belong to the Ku Klax Klan.
