During a latest workshop on syntax, A sentence- “I AM going bananas”- was presented for comment. A short pool of this class has rendered some proposals about the types os a answers a educator would give if a scholar challenged to compose such a sentence.

The educator will likely get “I am going crazy” as the rewritten sentence. If this does really happen, the educator can select between two attacks: (1) Ignore it and proceed on, or (2) Mark “ Too colloquial for Standard English models. Please rewrite.”
