Reunion of Odysseus and Telemachus

Introduction

In the first book "The Odyssey" by Homer, we get acquainted with the son of Odysseus, Telemachus. It is here that we learn about the problem of the Odyssey and the situation in respect of the property and those who now inhabit it.

Discussion

This maturation, from childhood to adulthood, is the first summoned to a meeting with Athena. Athena, or Mentes as Telemachus knows, is looking for Odysseus and asked about his whereabouts. After this exchange of news with Telemachus, Athena encourages him to round up the suitors for the next morning and listen to the warning. Athens proceeds to tell Telemachus about his adventure that lies ahead. Invoking the gods to witness, Telemachus instructed to tell the suitors to scatter and move to their own homes.

In another attempt to instill motivation in Athens Telemachus questions him about his current stage in life, "You must not cling to your childhood more-this time you were a man (Bader 42)."? In response to other people's advice, confronts the suitors Telemachus the next morning and advised them to leave. Telemachus is the first step towards the man.
