Right to Eat Meat

Introduction

It is commonly believed that eating meat is inhumane. Another debate about this issue is that if we will all be consuming vegetables than there will be no more plants and fertilizers left. If only vegetables are consumed than all the farms used to raise cattle will be use to grow edible plants, which intern means the elimination of all the live stock and hence the elimination of fertilizers, which means there will be no plants in long terms. But of course the matter is al lot more complicated than all of this, and the arguments in favor of eating meat are much stronger. Vegetarians perform different campaigns against the usage of beef and protest against the cattle industry. “We are the head of the food chain. It is a human being's right to eat meat."

Discussion

Eating meat is ethically acceptable even if not ethically superior. The decision of eating meat is as right as the decision to not to. The argument about eating meat or to avoid it is to restrict oneself from eating it, although we all know the significance of important proteins and vitamins our body gets enriched with by eating meat. Vegetarians protest against eating meat is based on the inhumane treatment with animals and killing them for our own interest. This reason provided by vegetarians is not enough to prohibit the usage of meat but it enlightens the need to know about the source of the meat that you eat inspection of farmers and the process through which it reaches us (Lamey, 2007).When you can verify that your producers are giving their animals a decent life and a quick death (keeping in mind that no life or death, however idyllic, can be kept completely free of discomfort) compassion and kindness can be consistent with the practice of eating meat. If the issue is just related to the killing of these animals than the critics also need to realize that the animals are not just killed for food. They are bred, raised and then killed for food. So if the question is to stop the killing of these animals than the breeding and rising of these animals should also be stopped. In short vegetarians are limiting the animal's existence. For every chicken, pig or cow you don't eat, a chicken, pig or cow's existence will simply not occur. So the real question that arises is, is it better to be brought to life for a short period and then killed and used for food, or is it better to not exist at all (CARTER, 2005)

The fat found between the muscle fibers is monounsaturated (omega 9), similar to olive oil, and polyunsaturated, which provides significant amounts of omega 3. Meanwhile, the chicken provides a similar number of ...
