Abstract

The report is based on the scope of risk assessment that focused on web based application established and controlled by web based solutions for the NBA's Green Bay Packers football team. The main purpose is to view the overall web page and choose the provided areas for assessment. The National Basketball Association is one of the most prominent leagues of basketball in the North America. Under the league, a total of thirty plays, amongst them, one is from Canada while the rest of them are American clubs. This report is the risk assessment report of the National Basketball Association (NBA)'s website operation. This report will demonstrate the importance of the security of Internet to the readers. In this paper, a risk assessment report has been made which identifies the weaknesses and threats of the NBA's information system. The National Basketball Association has developed a website for the Basketball teams with the help of the DM interactive. The main focus of the report is on the systems supporting the electronic commerce (i.e. ticket sales, customer information, merchandising, etc.) along with the related functions. The goal is to take an overall view of the web site and then select a couple of key areas for assessment. There can be countless threats for the information systems like low internet speed or increased traffic on the network. This is the reason why it is significant for the organizations to ensure the safety and security of their information systems. According to this report NBA is in dire need to update and upgrade its website as there is are increased chances of threats to their system as hackers can use sensitive information of the organization to get their game plans, strategies, strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.
