Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of “Rock and Roll music” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “Rock and Roll music” and its relation with “the 1960's era”. The research also analyzes many aspects of “Rock and Roll music” and tries to gauge its effect on “the timeline of the 1960's” and the effects incorporated accordingly during the time. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for “Rock and Roll music” and tries to describe the overall effect of on “the 1960's timeframe”.

Introduction

Whenever listening to the term rock 'n roll lifestyle, people do not consider a particular song, or band or even people—it's a lifestyle. All those who have contributed, played, glittered or even given some bass to this lifestyle have made an escalation to the adoption and incorporation of rock and roll in people's life.

When defining the term Rock 'n Roll, historians and music dwellers usually refers that it dates back to the times and somewhere in the 1950's and the 1960's. At the time, the world has witnessed and survived a great deal of pain and misery after the infamous World War II (Coleman, 2007, 61).

During that time frame, since everything gradually settled and with the army heading back to their homes, the next 5-10 years saw a great deal of population escalation, generally labeled as the Baby Boomers, since thousands of millions of babies were born at the time. When quoting this sociological and statistics related to population census, the American society immediately saw and faced a country that generally catered youngsters and teenagers for its economic growth and development.

Band of girls came on the scene and became significantly visible during the early 1960s; many featuring three women sang in harmonic tune. Amongst the most popular were the, Shangri-Las (whose biggest hit was "Leader of the Pack") and the Crystals (whose biggest hit was "Da Doo Ron Ron") and Ronettes (whose biggest hit was "Be My Baby").

This paper begins to define exactly how far and wide has music-from Elvis Presley to the Beatles, from Nancy Sinatra to Little Richard-have made people great fans, changing their complete ways of living and molding it according to the trends given in the book of Rock 'n Roll.
