Abstract

Transformational leaders help build enthusiasm and trust among the followers and generate a proactive culture. For learning organizations, they focus their energies on providing crucial support to the learning and development of teams and groups; ensuring that information is disseminated equally to facilitate greater influx of ideas. There is strong evidence present in literature to support the relations between the role of effective leadership in changing and developing an organizational culture. In light of present business scenario, this study shall focus mainly on a nurturing culture that is able to adapt readily to various organizational and environmental changes.

Research Questions

What is the need for innovation in business strategy and organizational culture in today's business practices?

What is the need for transformational leadership in building a learning culture in an organization?

What are the linkages between transformational leadership and organizational innovative capabilities?

What are the various components of leadership that may contribute to the learning culture in an organization?

How well do the perceptions and views of the employees align with the leadership vision and decisions?

Research Objectives & Theory

This research will also focus on the impact of transformational leadership on the learning culture in an organization. While creativity and innovation are the key constituents to the success formula in any organization, this paper shall analyse and evaluate empirical theories to suggest how diverse components of leadership contribute to the learning culture in an organization.

The theory of this research will help gauge the components of a TFL (Transformational Leadership) culture to assess whether organizational leaders should focus on the performance at the group level or at the individual level.

It shall analyze the TFL characteristics and behavior on basis of Bass' model and will also address the theoretical issues surrounding this model so as to eliminate the impact of research limitations.

Hypothesis

Ho: Transformational leadership role and factors will be positively related to innovative input and organizational learning culture.

H1: Transformational leadership will be negatively related to innovative input and organizational learning culture.

Changing business dynamics, cut-throat competition and global operations call for businesses to be flexible and adaptive. To facilitate this cultural change in a business entity, the need for dynamic and transformational leadership is also increasing overtime. The most effective way to gauge the performance capabilities of any organization is through adequate discerning of its organizational culture. This culture is surrounded by the actions of the leader and how his approach and vision is communicated to the lower hierarchical levels. Successful organizations rely on leaders that actively participate in their operations and events and make themselves visible in all important announcements; taking the position of a role model for the company. A visionary leader is able to communicate his philosophies in order to prioritize the future of the organization and its people effectively. For an organization to excel it is mandatory that its goals and objectives are aligned to a clear leadership vision so as to avoid a muddled culture.
