Introduction

Certain incidences in history not only shape and change the course of events, but they also play their part in changing the thinking of people and rules of the world forever. These incidences generally take place when some courageous and daring people take the initiative and raise their voice against the injustice and unfair treatment being done to them, and because of their courage and determination, such people are always remembered and celebrated. The following paragraphs deal with the account of one such incident by a similar person, who raised her voice against the unfair treatment, and thus gave rise to one of the most successful and effective campaigns in history. Rosa Parks is one of the most well-known and famous African- American Civil Rights Activist, who has also been termed as the 'First lady of civil rights' and 'the mother of the freedom movement' by the US Congress. Rosa Parks was not only the cause of the initiation of freedom movement in 1955 but also played an active part in its success and progress of the movement. At the time of the bus incident, which would be highlighted in the following paragraphs, Rosa Parks was the secretary of Montgomery chapter of the NAACP and thus was already working for the rights of the African Americans and their liberation.
