Ans 1.Differentiation is one of the basis through which the “Do it yourself” industry is getting the fame all around the world. Do it yourself industry has itself created a competitive advantage through its characteristics of products and easiness provided by it. Home Depot is dealing in this industry and gaining a competitive advantage. The reason behind it is that it's a well-known company targeting the home decorations and construction services or products. The targeted audience of this company is mostly the house wives, house caretaker or a family. Here the company is giving these people a chance of ease and more comfort by selling them the DIY products. This audience wants to have easiness in their work. Secondly the DIT products are more cost saving in the near future as these products have are easily manageable and doesn't require any expert or professional aid. Home Depot is in U.S in the leading company in selling the decorations for the home. It is more reliable and trusted business along with having a list of its own customers. Therefore this company gained a competitive advantage soon by selling the Do-it-yourself products (Sparrow, 2004).

Talent management functions hires and fires staff good to bad. This works as the kidney in our body. This is because an effective management system that measures talent will employ a quality and skilled employees, holding them and removing the bad ones. This is especially significant during hard periods when funds are cut staffing to the bone. An efficient management team also must have the knowledge and discipline to describe the deadwood in the organization and be able to obtain firm action to delete them. These executives are the ones who must be rooted in the system due to their job security and seniority are just cruising along and set the pace. They do not have an active and productive contribution and add value to the company. Most managers recognize that the most difficult task is the dismissal of employees, especially someone who has worked with closely for several years. Usually, the people you do not fire are what make life impossible.
