The ultimate performance of any organization depends on the performance of its employees, which in turn depends on several factors. These factors can be related to work or can be familial or personal matters. How an employee manages various aspects of her life helps achieving in balance at work and in private life. Work-Life balance can be understood as the equilibrium point on see-saw, one side of which is occupied by personal goals & family responsibilities and the other side is occupied by workplace necessities. Work-life balance does not necessarily mean equal balance between work & personal life rather it is the happy medium between the maximum & minimum. Work life balance is meaningful achievement and engagement in everyday life. This paper aims to discuss importance of work and private life in organization.

Work Life Stress

The stresses that the individuals experience in the workplace are manageable. Employees who are suffering work stress can help themselves by using several techniques. They can try to implement individual time management (Robbins, 2003). This will help them to manage their tasks effectively within certain deadlines. Physical exercises can also help the employees to manage work stress (Robbins, 2003). Some people find physical exercises to be an effective way of relaxing. Regular exercise would not only help the individual to release stress, but it would also help them to keep their health. Good social interactions with others will also help the individuals to deal with stress. Joining groups, sharing interests with others and other social interactions will help the person to relax. Talking and sharing problems with manager, colleagues, or the loved ones might help to reduce stress. In the worst situation, considering changing job is effective way of reducing stress (Victoria, 2006).

As employees' stress would also have an impact in the organization, it is part of the managers' responsibilities to help the employees to reduce their stress in the workplace. Improving personal selections and job placements can help the employees to reduce stress. By placing the employees in the right position in the organization, usually based on their skills and qualifications, will help the employees to adjust better to their jobs and feel less stress. In the long run, the organization would also be impacted because the employees would be able to maximize their job performances. Providing trainings is also one way to help the employees managing their stress. For those who are not skilled or facing some difficulties in their job, training will help them to cope with the jobs better and it would help them to reduce their stress level.
